The formal title of this course is RABQSA Certified Aerospace Quality Management System Foundation Course – AS9100.

Course Objectives
This 16-hour (two-day) course is the ideal starting point toward understanding the direction in which the AS9100 standard and associated documents, including the AS9014 trilogy, are moving; giving insight into the reasons behind the requirements. This introduction will provide vital information to guide companies in reviewing current systems, planning and accomplishing change, and understanding the challenges associated with the AS9100, Rev. B standard.

This course is also intended for auditors who have successfully completed a quality management system (ISO 9001 based) auditor training course approved by a training provider approval body, such as RABQSA International and need to meet the training requirement to become an AS9100 Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA). The course is taught to the AS9100, Revision B standard. This course is designed to meet the full requirements of AS9014 section 7.2 and AS9104/3 section A.1 (which replaced the requirements of AIR5493).

Certification
This course is certified by RABQSA International, and meets the training requirements as established in AS9104/3 and AS9014. “Successful completion” of this training satisfies the RABQSA's requirements for AS9100 foundation training in its Aerospace Auditor Certification Program.

Prerequisites
A) For individuals looking to learn about the AS9100 requirements and how to implement or transition their quality management system to AS9100:
  • A familiarity with aerospace activities and the ISO 9001standard is helpful.


B) For individuals seeking to become and an AS9100 Aerospace Experience Auditor (AEA) and need to meet the foundation training requirements:
  • Successful completion of a QMS (ISO 9001 based) auditor training course approved by a training provider approval body , such as an RABQSA certified Lead Auditor course, is required prior to attending this course
  • An understanding of the work, training and auditing requirements to become an AEA is helpful
  • Familiarity with the requirements of AS9014and the AS9104 trilogy is helpful.
