Background
Carmine gained over 15 years of experience in the chemical design and process industries while with Union Carbide Corporation. His assignments included new product development for a variety of automotive applications. As a member of the management team, he was instrumental in developing environmental programs, including waste minimization efforts in both laboratory and manufacturing operations.
Carmine has continued to refine his process management skills and techniques since joining SAI Global 14 years ago. He has assumed the leadership role in several key projects including the development and coordination of international work teams tasked with reengineering core business processes, starting with strategic long range product planning through the entire product / process design, manufacture, sales, service and product phase out. Carmine's approach has always remained on the "bigger business picture" in order to ensure maximum benefit and value to the entire enterprise. His experience not only includes corporate management positions, but he has also held leadership positions in startup operations in both the service and retail industries.

Carmine has acquired a unique combination of expertise in development and implementation of integrated management systems. By utilizing a practical and beneficial approach to business improvement, Carmine has been very successful at generating internal acceptance to needed changes to enhance core business processes. Emphasizing that the business processes should serve the organization and its customers, Carmine has been a leader in identifying opportunities to reduce hassle and bureaucracy within each organization. One of his primary assets is Carmine's ability to work successfully and productively at all levels within an organization from top management to operations personnel and relate information in a common sense meaningful way to each of them.
Carmine's areas of expertise include automotive design and development, a wide variety of manufacturing operations and techniques, casting and foundry operations, tooling and machining operations and component assembly/sub-assembly. He has also been involved with transportation operations, and distribution and logistic operations, custom brokering and freight forwarding. Carmine also has extensive experience in the chemical processing industry, including new product development, coatings, plastics compounding, specialty paper manufacturing, and the food service industry.
Carmine's major focus since joining SAI Global has been in supporting our automotive customers and he serves as our primary subject matter expert for all of our ISO/TS 16949 training programs and related quality tool courses (i.e., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, etc.). He has coached our customers in all aspects of developing and implementing management systems, providing services that range from delivering training and consulting support to leading internal assessment teams.
Clients
Carmine has assisted small organizations with as few as 10 employees and large global, multi-national, multi - site organizations with the development and implementation of their business management systems. Recent engagements include Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama where Carmine lead a team to successful develop and implement a
ISO/TS 16949-based Business Management System (BMS) at their start up facility in Montgomery, covering the most extensive registration scope for an OEM in the automotive industry. Carmine was also involved with the DaimlerChrysler Corporation where he led the effort to develop and implement a totally integrated assurance system to meet all the requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental), VDA 6.2 (service providers), OHSAS 18001 (health and safety) and risk management for the entire automotive group. Other prominent clients include Bayer Corp., Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, Owens Corning Inc., Ford Motor Co., GM Powertrain (Engineering, Forging and Manufacturing operations), GM Metal Fabricating Division, GM Worldwide Facilities Group, TRW Automotive Systems, Siemens Electronic Systems, Textron Automotive Systems, Marubeni America, Makita Corp. of America, Ethyl Corp., W.L. Credentials
Carmine is an RABQSA certified Lead Auditor for both Quality and Environmental Management Systems. He is a long-time member of the ASQ and is currently associated with the Princeton, NJ section. Carmine received a BS in Biochemistry from Manhattan College and his MS degree in Polymer Chemistry from Long Island University. He also received a National Science Foundation Traineeship while pursuing his MS degree.
