Course Objectives The year 2000 revision of ISO 9001 provides organizations with additional flexibility in developing their documentation systems. This 2-day course is designed for organizations just beginning the documentation process who need guidance on what to create and in what format, as well as for those organizations who are already registered and have found their processes to be “over-documented”.
Attendees of this course will review the documentation requirements of the revised standard and examine creative alternatives to the traditional element-by-element approach used to develop quality manuals and supporting documentation. You will have an opportunity to assess your organization’s existing documentation in order to determine gaps and identify opportunities for reducing and streamlining existing documentation. Attendees will step through the documentation system’s design process, including the development of a quality manual and lower level, supporting documentation. You will also learn how to utilize documented processes as a vehicle to promote process improvement efforts. Additionally, attendees will be given an opportunity to assess different types of software generated documentation.
