Background
With over 15 years of management consulting experience, Margaret has spent her career improving corporate profitability. Her passions are process and results and her practice spans numerous industries, including manufacturing, distribution, travel and leisure, healthcare, education, government, not-for-profit, and services. Margaret is able to quickly assess an organization's needs and determine the appropriate tools and techniques needed to best assist her clients.
Margaret's management consulting career began with Deloitte Consulting where she spent six years on a broad range of engagements, including managing teams of up to 100 people. She also spent two years managing a $150 million supplier portfolio, resulting in a 70% increase in sales to $250 million for Cardinal (formerly Baxter Hospital Supply). Concurrently, Margaret also provided consulting services to Baxter Healthcare Corporation's senior executives.
Over the past seven years, Margaret has practiced privately for a number of corporate clients, both solely and in collaboration with associates. She frequently runs workshops and annual meetings to assist management in implementing process changes. She has also served as a director and/or officer on various organizations' boards.
Specialties
Margaret's workshops reflect her enthusiasm for results. She is able to go beyond theory, and infuse sessions with real-life examples and exercises that are pertinent to the specific industries and needs of class participants. Her aim is to arm each participant with actionable skills. Workshop specialties include: Overall Malcolm Baldrige criteria and the assessment process, leadership, strategic planning, customer service, supply chain management, supplier negotiation, results, project management, and process mapping and analysis.
Credentials
Margaret was selected by the US Chamber of Commerce to participate as a National Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige Award beginning in 2006. Additionally, she has been a Senior Examiner for Illinois' Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence for the past five years. Sponsored by the Governor of Illinois, this is Illinois' version of the President's National Malcolm Baldrige Award Program.
Her education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, which Margaret completed while concurrently attending the Kellogg MBA School. In addition, Margaret has continuously updated her education via classes with Deming, Juran, Harvard, Northwestern, Loyola, MIT, ASQ, the American Marketing Association, and Baldrige.
