Tom Kleinert
Background
Before joining SAI Global, Tom had over 16 years of experience with a major automotive supplier, holding various positions within the quality division. He was responsible for developing and implementing quality systems to meet customer requirements in various fields including statistical techniques, TQM, and other participative management systems.
Since joining SAI Global in 1992, Tom has worked with a variety of customers in industries including automotive, manufacturing, electronics, chemical and consumer products, providing training, consulting and auditing support
Specialties
Tom’s strengths are his ability to link the international quality standards (ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001:2000) with existing business systems for effective and efficient systems, combined with a proven ability to implement quality system improvements throughout the work force.
Tom’s major focus since joining SAI Global has been our automotive customers and serves as one of our subject matter experts and primary instructors for all of our ISO/TS 16949 training programs and related quality tool courses (i.e., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, etc.). He has supported customers in implementing quality management systems, providing services that range from training and consulting support to leading internal audits and assisting in development and implementation of the internal audit program.
Tom has conducted innumerable pre-assessment audits against ISO 9000, QS-9000 and ISO/TS 16949 in a wide range of industries.
Clients
As a consultant with SAI Global, Tom has trained more than 2,000 people in the implementation of quality systems and internal auditing. Clients include: Corning, Hoechst Celanese, Uniroyal, Shuford Mills, and Ashta Chemicals, General Motors Powertrain, DaimlerChrysler, Allison Transmissions, Douglas Battery Manufacturing Company, Southland Technologies, SKF, Racal Datacom, UOP Chemical, and Alumax of South Carolina supporting several sites in achieving quality system registration.
Credentials
Tom is a senior member of ASQ, a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), and a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA). He is an RAB systems auditor, and is active in his local ASQ section training program.
