Course Objectives This two-day course provides a fundamental understanding of the US environmental legal system of major statutes and regulations from the perspective of implementing and auditing an ISO 14001 environmental management system (EMS). It is designed for individuals from a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds, including Quality, Safety, Human Resources, Manufacturing, and Engineering, as well as environmental professionals needing a refresher.
Using a combination of specially designed case studies and workshops, participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice how to apply environmental regulatory requirements and other agency initiatives to the requirements of ISO 14001. Participants will also strengthen their abilities to identify environmental aspects and recognize the different types of environmental impacts - one of the most critical steps in implementing a successful EMS program.
