The QuEST Forum was created in October 1997 by leading telecommunications service providers and suppliers to develop a consistent set of quality system requirements, known collectively as TL 9000, which could be applied industry wide.
The group’s purpose is to:
- Foster continued improvements to the quality and reliability of telecommunications service
- Develop and maintain a common set of quality system requirements, including reportable cost and performance based metrics to guide progress and evaluate results of quality system implementation
- Promote quality systems that effectively and efficiently protect the integrity and use of telecommunications products and services
- Drive continuous improvement
- Enhance customer-supplier relationships
- Leverage industry conformity assessment processes
Who makes up the QuEST Forum?
Most major telecommunication service providers and suppliers are active participants. Since the group’s inception, more than 60 companies have joined the QuEST Forum.
How will the new set of quality requirements be developed?
Representatives from participating QuEST Forum service providers and suppliers have formed work groups and meet monthly to develop requirements that focus on the needs of the entire industry.
